Yeshiva University Global Learning Initiative

Yeshiva University is pleased to present its 2006-2007 Global Learning Initiative (GLI) catalogue of video seminars and programs for students, educators and administrators. This celebrates the vision of Yeshiva University and the Center for the Jewish Future:

to infuse the student body with a spirit of leadership and sense of klal Yisrael; to build, cultivate and support communities, leaders and individuals; and to create a global movement that promotes the values of Yeshiva University.

This year’s offerings represent much growth in our program both in the sheer number of opportunities available as well as the scope of topics and presenters. Our hope is to bring you the most exceptional educators representing the excellent resources available at Yeshiva University, which includes the Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration, the Rabbeinu Yitzchak Elchanan Theological Seminary (RIETS) and Yeshiva College.  In addition to the “tried and true” presenters scheduled, we have also included new talented educators whom you may not yet know - rising stars from both within and outside of YU.  For that reason - and as always - the success of this program depends on the ongoing feedback from you, our participants.  I encourage you to share your input with us throughout the year on the topics and presenters, and to submit any ideas that you may have for future programs.

I want to also thank the sponsors of the Global Learning Initiative, whose inspiration and funding have made this all possible:

                              Susan and Jon Diamond Family

                              The Jim Joseph Foundation

                              Mr. Morry Weiss

I look forward to working with you this year and to continue to advance this unique learning opportunity with your help and participation. Please accept my best wishes for a productive and fulfilling school year.

G'mar Chatima Tova,

Nathan Kruman

Associate Director

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Registrations are currently being accepted for all sessions throughout the year.

Due to the increase in interest and GLI sites, we have tried to increase the numbers of sessions and times available. All registrations will be processed on a first-come first-served basis. For that reason, we encourage you to register as early as possible to guarantee spots for your students or teachers. We cannot guarantee that we can accommodate last minute registrations.

In instances where student sessions are repeated, such as the Holiday Preparatory Limud and various other series, schools may only register for a repeated session if it is for a different group of students. However, if there is too great a demand, we will need to first guarantee that every school is able to sign up for at least one session.

To register for video seminars please email to Nathan Kruman (kruman@yu.edu) indicating the following:

Ø      School

Ø      Session title

Ø      Presenter

Ø      Date and time of session

Ø      Number of students or educators attending

Please note: educators participating in sessions will need an ANGEL license to download session materials. A separate ANGEL registration form will be sent to all schools participating in educator sessions. For more information on the ANGEL on-line course management system please call Nathan Kruman at 212-960-5263.
